Pickles Proposes Additional NEA Funding
for New ‘Velvet Elvis’ Program

WASHINGTON (IWR News Parody) – On Thursday, Laura Bush (Pickles) announced that President Bush (Monkey Pants) would ask for an $18 million increase in funds for the National Endowment for the Arts. All but $3 million of the increase will go to create a new program called “Velvet Elvis: Three Decades of Artistic Genius,” which will include a mix of touring performances, local presentations and arts education in partnership with public and private organizations across the country.

“The goal of this compassionate program is for every trailer and shanty in American to have its very own special Velvet Elvis painting. God bless Elvis Presley! Thank you, said Mrs. Bush.
