Zinaida Serebriakova [Bio 1884-1967] (Via Little Hokum Rag
This is what I love about art blogging, i.e., finding an artist that you never heard of before who totally blows you away with their talent, and Ukranian Zinaida Serebriakova certainly fills the bill as a great artist for me. She was an very prolific portraiture and landscape artist. Where she excelled in my opinion was her remarkable portrayal of female sensuality and “eroticism” in her paintings.

It’s been my observation that women make the best female nude and portrait paintings, because they are more likely to capture the complete beauty of the feminine body and spirit, and Zinaida Serebriakova renders the essence of women second to none!
I want to get a book of her of work, but I couldn’t find one on Amazon. If there isn’t a good book on her artwork in English, this would be a great project for somebody!
