To Feed Homeless Iraq Vets

WASHINGTON (IWR News Parody) – President Bush today at the 700 Soup Kitchen Club in Washington, DC called for faith based soup kitchens to serve the exploding population of homeless Iraq veterans.

"It has come to my attention that many of our Iraq veterans are homeless and could use some extra grub to give them the strength to hunt for empty pop cans.

I understand they can earn enough money that way to buy a jug of wine and can of Sterno to keep them warm at night.

It’s a good thing that these veterans we able to pick up this scavenging skill in Iraq when they were looking for scrap metal and compromise ballistic glass

Unfortunately, there is no money left in the federal piggy bank. In fact, we’re almost bankrupt, but don’t tell anybody I said that.

Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh!

Remember, it is not the role of government to help ordinary people.

The role of government is to help oligarchs, and start pre-emptive wars and stuff like that.

I can’t believe I just said that word, o-li-garch.

Anyway, that’s why I asking for a faith based solution to this problem," said Mr. Bush as he pretended to eat lunch with the homeless Iraq vets.
