WASHINGTON (IWR SATIRE) – In an announcement that stunned the nation, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald said today that his office had arrested Vice President Dick Cheney for conspiring to control the world’s acorn market.  Fitzgerald revealed the cunning plot, in which Cheney knew that scientists would blame the acorn shortage on global warming or some natural phenomena and that would provide the perfect cover for his early morning acorn gathering activities.  Cheney had apparently recruited thousands of boy scouts from the East Coast area to collect acorns and had them all sworn to secrecy under the guise of Homeland Security.
