Can’t Bring Back Elvis

LANGHORNE, PA (IWR News Parody) – Laura Bush on Monday defended limits imposed by her bird brained husband on embryonic stem cell research and criticized the imaginary people who suggest that the research could lead quickly to cures for Alzheimer’s and other diseases.

"I hope that stem-cell research will be able to some day bring back Elvis or even Liberace,” Laura Bush told an audience of about 300 supporters, many of them FBI agents dressed as doctors and nurses, at a campaign event in Langhorne, Pa. "But I know that embryonic stem-cell research is very preliminary, and the implication that cures for Alzheimer’s or the cloning of our favorite celebrities are just around the corner is just not right, and it’s really not fair to Elvis fans to get their hopes up.

After all I have a degree in library science, and that makes me an expert in this area.”
