SLiRP/TIA and Trumpet Winsock Setup Reference

"Click here for the setup menu" -- Chuang Uart (4/6/96)

I have created this reference to help spare others from jumping through all the configuration hoops that I had to go through setting up first TIA and then SLiRP on my Netcom shell account. This information has been compiled from FAQs (see reference links), documentation, usenet posts, trial and error and from my experience as a systems engineer. All of the configuration examples are taken from my working files. Standard Disclaimer. Use at your own Risk!

This reference is Netscape Enhanced. If you find any errors, suggest additions, have URLs to share or have comments: send email to llarrow@webcom.com.

The Internet Adapter TIA ($30) - The Internet Adapter (TIA) is an Internet access utility that lets you use popular TCP/IP software such as Netscape and Eudora with a standard UNIX shell account. In essence it converts a shell account into a "pseudo-SLIP" account the same way an electrical adapter converts a two-prong outlet into a three-prong outlet." Quoted from the TIA Home Page.

Upgrade to TIA 2.x, Click Here for the upgrade form. TIA 2.x includes CSLIP and PPP!
