Georgia O'Keeffe Wikipedia and Georgia O'Keeffe Museum
I went to SF MOMA on my day off to see the photography of Richard Avedon, which I might add was quite impressive, but a greater surprise to me was wonderful and colorful work I saw by Georgia O'Keeffe.  I now consider her one of my favorite artists.  Her exhibition in San Francisco ends today, but there is going to be an exhibit of her more abstract work at the Whitney, see Painting a New Picture of Georgia O’Keeffe.  This latter exhibit will also include one of my favorite O'Keeffe paintings - Pink Tulip (1925).  Also, check out this great photo portrait of Georgia O'Keeffe by Alfred Stieglitz (1918).

Pink Tulip (1925)

Sky Above The Clouds III (1963)
This reminds me a bit of Hokusai's Red Fuji (southern wind clear morning).

Green Lines And Pink (1919)

More Images can be found at The Art Institute of Chicago, The Art Database Artist's and MoMA.
