Wang Limin
This Chinese artist is very talented. He really seems to capture the mood and personality of his female subjects.  When his colors are right like in the painting below, his work soars.

Hashiguchi Goyo At The Boston MFA

Hashiguchi Goyô At The Boston MFA (Bio 1880-1921)
Hashiguchi Goyo is one of my favorite Japanese woodblock print makers of all time.  His work is associated with the Shin Hanga movement and Bijinga or prints of beautiful women.  I have blogged Goyo before, but I have not blogged his work at the MFA.  There are over 50 of Goyo's prints at the MFA , many of which I had never seen before.  Also, check out Goyo prints at Hanga Gallery and the Wikimedia Commons.  Here are a few of my favorite images from the MFA set.

Nude Figure of Woman with Basin (1920)

Woman After The Bath (1920)

Bamboo Blind (1920)

Woman in Blue Combing her Hair (1920)

Muppet Show - Ukulele Lady [Lyrics]
This is one my favorite old songs.  I heard it on the Jim Kewskin Jug Band Greatest Hits album that I have stored in a box somewhere.  I couldn't find the jug band version, but I did find this charming and also same version of their song by the Muppets.  The song was originally released in 1925 by Frank Crumit, who also was one of the co-writers of the song.  Lastly, I would like to dedicate this song to Amy Crehore, who is a real modern day Ukulele Lady, well she paints them anyway.

Franz Ferdinand - This Fire [Lyrics]
