John Roddam Spencer Stanhope
Stanhope is another one of those fascinating English Pre-Raphaelite
painters. He was influenced by
Burne-Jones and was the uncle of one of my favorite Pre-Raphaelite
De Morgan. I just wish there were more of his paintings
available for viewing on the Internet.

I really like many of the contemporary Chinese artists and Ling Jian is an
exceptional example of this new and exciting artwork. Although Ling was
born in China, he now lives and works in both Berlin and Beijing. I
really love his female figures, especially "Grew Up Under Sunshine" below and
would like to have that painting hanging in my living room.

Strange Fruit [Lyrics]
Strange Fruit by
Billie Holiday is one of the most poignant and chilling songs ever
the history of music. The passing of
Jessie Helms last week reminded me of the pathology and brutality of
racism. It really hasn't been that long ago when the lynching of African
Americans was commonplace in the South.
