In light of Bush's recent speeches on Iran, this animation seems even more relevant today.

Strange and Beautiful Music
Jim Jarmusch's Stranger Than Paradise, which stars John Lurie, has always been one of my favorite movies.  After I got Netflix, I wanted to check out more Jarmusch movies, and I watched Down By Law, which I thought was another great movie, which also starred Lurie this time with Tom Waits.  BTW, I'm a big fan of Tom Waits too.  I then checked for movies by John Lurie and found Fishing With John.  In this "cult" 1991 TV series, Lurie goes on ridiculous fishing adventures with his famous pals Jim Jarmusch, Tom Waits, Matt Dillon, Willem Defoe and Dennis Hopper.  Anyway, that's how I found about John Lurie's humorous art and music.

I love this painting of the little angle, which translated means "Wings of Childhood".

I really like the bright colors and content of these paintings.  The picture below would look great over my mantle piece.  If I had a mantle piece...

Umbrellas at the NYPL Digital Gallery
There are over 600 images in the NYPL Digital Gallery, which have umbrellas in them.  Below are a few examples that I liked.  I think I'm in love with the woman in the red dress below.
