Target Tehran: Washington sets stage for a new confrontation (BF)
I'm surprised Wolf Blitzer hasn't renamed his Situation Room to
Showdown with Iran by now, to match his jingoistic Showdown with Iraq show. If Bush and
his sick cronies really have a death wish, why don't
just do the honorable thing and commit
seppuku and leave the
rest of the world friggin' alone!

Neocon Nutcase Kristol says Obama would be a pro slavery kinda guy….
I can't believe the sickening prattle these neocon dorks and their
brown
shirt proxies come up. I guess it shows they're scared as hell that
Obama will get elected and raise their taxes to pay for Bush's deficits.

7 GOP Senators Back War Debate
The country needs a real debate and new strategy in Iraq. Bush's way
will only lead to more bloodshed and disgrace. Personally, I like
Biden's decentralized regions plan, which also calls for negotiating
with all of Iraq's neighbors. The people of Iraq are already
relocating towards
their respective sections to avoid the death squads from both sides.
Once borders have been established, each Iraqi regional army/police should
have the right motivation to stamp out lawlessness, and we can bring the
troops home sooner rather than later.

Katsushika Hokusai
I was looking at the wave painting below by Albert Bierstadt and immediately
thought of
Hokusai's Wave, and that's how I found this Visipix site, which has 2779
images of the great Ukiyoe artist's work! The painting below I had
never seen before and now it's on my top ten list of great Ukiyo-e
paintings. It almost like a 3D rendition of an
Utamaro painting.

Théodore
Chassériau (1819-1856)
Theodore Chasseriau was recently featured with the exhibition
Théodore Chassériau (1819–1856): The Unknown Romantic at the Met.
He only lived to be 37. His work was unusual in the pronounced outlines he
used in painting his
subjects, which give a hint perhaps to later works of Picasso and
Matisse.
