Monty Python - Lumberjack Song
What a great way to start off the weekend with this classic Monty Python skit.  YouTube is great!

Michael Palin and Connie Booth

Radiohead - Karma Police (Live on Letterman)
This IWR Friday Jam Session features Radiohead performing their trademark song live on the David Letterman show.  BTW, there are a lot more live concert versions of this great song on YouTube, or if you prefer the original 1997 music video.

Poll: U.S. disapproves of Iraq war (BF)
The poll found that 59 percent of adults say the US made a mistake in going to war in Iraq — the highest level yet in AP-Ipsos polling.

Al-Zarqawi: A life drenched in blood (AB)
This is one of the more lucid appraisals of Bush's manufactured Boogieman.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was a little-known Jordanian petty criminal turned Islamic fundamentalist fanatic until he was denounced by the US in 2003 as an insurgent leader of great importance.

Zarqawi Is Dead, but Weary Iraqis Fear the Violence Won't Subside
The boogieman is dead, but the criminals and death squads in Iraq will continue their dirty work, largely unchallenged.

The skepticism springs from how Iraqis see the violence. Mr. Zarqawi is part of a larger galaxy of gangs and criminal groups that kill and kidnap with virtual impunity as the state watches helplessly. In the past year, the killing has shifted from spectacular suicide bombings, often attributed to Mr. Zarqawi, to assassinations, kidnappings and other criminal violence, and many Iraqis say they are now more afraid of the latter.

Bush's Manufactured Boogie Man Is Killed
Although it is always nice to see an al Qaeda nutcase terrorist eliminated, I don't see how this will significantly impact the Iraqi civil war between the Shiites and Sunnis or help get our troops out of this unnecessary quagmire any sooner.  It took us 2 to 3 years just to kill one low-tech  loony.  Who will the next Islamic Rambo be that Bush is going to blame for Rummy's bungling?  Meanwhile, the sectarian strife continues unabated and Osama runs free.  Needless to say, I don't think it's time to break out the party hats and champagne.

Ann Coulter Attacks 9/11 Widows On The Today Show
Why does the conservative hate queen get so much air time, anyway?

"These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by griefparrazies. I have never seen people enjoying their husband’s death so much."

The Real Threat to Marriage: Top 10 GOP Adulterers (BF)

The War They Wanted, The Lies They Needed (BF)
As if we needed more evidence to impeach the worst president -- ever!

The Bush administration invaded Iraq claiming Saddam Hussein had tried to buy yellowcake uranium in Niger. As much of Washington knew, and the world soon learned, the charge was false. Worse, it appears to have been the cornerstone of a highly successful "black propaganda" campaign with links to the White House.

Colbert Tells College Graduates: Get Your Own TV Show
I hope someone posts the video somewhere on the Internet.

Get your own TV show. “It pays well," he observed, "the hours are great and you have fans. Eventually, some nice people will give you an honorary degree for doing jack squat.”

Bush, Senators Renew Fight Against Gay Marriage
Yet another "profile in courage" from this morally bankrupt administration.

Bar group will review Bush's legal challenges (BF)
It's too bad the Congress isn't doing this.  Again, if you're not an oligarch, you are SOL with this administration.

Among the laws Bush has challenged are the ban on torturing detainees, oversight provisions in the USA Patriot Act, and ``whistle-blower" protections for federal employees.

Medical Privacy Law Nets No Fines
This administration could care less about your privacy.

In the three years since Americans gained federal protection for their private medical information, the Bush administration has received thousands of complaints alleging violations but has not imposed a single civil fine and has prosecuted just two criminal cases.

Iraqi Accuses U.S. of 'Daily' Attacks Against Civilians
Can someone please remind me, what the hell is our mission in Iraq?  If Bush et al are trying to alienate the entire Muslim world, they're doing a heckuva job!

Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki lashed out at the American military on Thursday, denouncing what he characterized as habitual attacks by troops against Iraqi civilians.

New 'Iraq Massacre' Tape Emerges
This latest alleged massacre occurred in Ishaqi in March.  We really need to get our troops out of that country.

The BBC has uncovered new video evidence that US forces may have been responsible for the deliberate killing of 11 innocent Iraqi civilians.

Bush Tops List As U.S. Voters Name Worst President (BF)
That's my man - Monkey Pants!

Bush was named by 34% of voters, followed by Richard Nixon at 17% and Bill Clinton at 16%, according to the Quinnipiac University national poll.

Yet Another FOX News Blunder
This is pretty funny. Fox News confuses the new Treasury Secretary with the new Iraqi Ambassador. I wonder if Bush killed Paulson's cousin too?  Fox News also missed Bush's big fat lie.
