Hashiguchi Goyo At The Boston MFA

Hashiguchi Goyō At The Boston MFA (Bio 1880-1921)
Hashiguchi Goyo is one of my favorite Japanese woodblock print makers of all time.  His work is associated with the Shin Hanga movement and Bijinga or prints of beautiful women.  I have blogged Goyo before, but I have not blogged his work at the MFA.  There are over 50 of Goyo's prints at the MFA , many of which I had never seen before.  Also, check out Goyo prints at Hanga Gallery and the Wikimedia Commons.  Here are a few of my favorite images from the MFA set.

Nude Figure of Woman with Basin (1920)

Woman After The Bath (1920)

Bamboo Blind (1920)

Woman in Blue Combing her Hair (1920)

Hot Spring (1920)
