John Liston Byam Shaw

John Liston Byam Shaw
I guess I've just this thing for Pre-Raphaelite paintings.  Englishman Byam Shaw was born in Madras India and was influenced by one of my favorite artists of all time - John William Waterhouse.  I think where Byam Shaw departs from Waterhouse is in his use of brilliant colors and tints.  I think his "Blessed Damozel" is extraordinary. I only wish more of Shaw's images were available on the Internet.  There are more of Shaw's paintings on The Victorian Web, ArtMagik and the ARC.
