Saito Kiyoshi [Bio
Saito Kiyoshi was part of the
woodblock print movement, which was an individual creative departure from
the Shin hanga,
which was heavily influenced by
originally was more famous outside of Japan than within, and he was one
the first such artists to win international recognition in 1951.
His work, which reminds me a little of Picasso, is very well represented in this
large digital collection of images (82) from
the University of Michigan Museum of Art.
